Manchester United slumped to a 2-1 defeat away to PSV in their opening group game of the Champions League.
Former PSV star, Memphis Depay handed United the lead in the first half, but the home side drew level through the villain of the night, Hector Moreno.
The Mexican’s wild lunge on Luke Shaw might just have ended the England defender’s season. Shaw was stretchered off with a broken leg and could be out of the Euros as well.
The former Southampton star looked devastated and was left in tears.
Although United did their best to control the game, Van Gaal’s side looked disjointed and failed to get back in the lead. The home side were rewarded for their patience and took the lead through Luciano Narsingh.
Without further delay, here are the goals from the PSV – Manchester United game.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Manchester United’s defeat against PSV.
No matter how many good players @ManUtd buys, LvG will mismanage them. Not convinced he's the right man for our beloved #MUFC

Manchester United look very, very average. No chance in the Champions League.

Not many players stood out for United tonight, but Martial and Memphis were at least bright sparks. Mata with one of his worst performances. — Liam (@OffsideLiam) September 15, 2015
PSV dancing around United… good performance, forcing the crosses and long-balls again.

A difficult night for Manchester United, Luke Shaw injury obviously presents a long term problem. Attacking play was probably best of season

Good to see LVG with a similar record to David Moyes @ManUtd. Just keep throwing money at it. He's bound to get it right with more cash.
