Manchester United will travel to the Etihad Stadium to face their cross-town rivals Manchester City in the first Manchester Derby of the season on this Sunday afternoon.

It will be the first time in the history of the Premier League, the Red Devils will face their fierce rivals without Sir Alex Ferguson at the managerial helm. The game will see two new managers – Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes – given their first taste of Manchester Derby and naturally both of them are expected to leave no stone unturned to register a victory from the tie.

From Manchester United’s point of view, David Moyes has a few selection headaches for this particular fixture. Right-back Rafael is fit for this tie, but is he fit enough to last the entire ninety minutes? In that case, a fully-fit Chris Smalling is a better bet.

Under Ferguson, Tom Cleverley was regularly used to anchor the midfield in big matches, but the young England international could be left out in favour of the new signing Marouane Fellaini, who impressed in both of his outings for his new club.

But, the biggest selection dilemma for Moyes will be whether to include Ashley Young over Shinji Kagawa for the left wing slot. The diminutive Japanese started in the last match against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, but will he be given the chance to retain his place, we’ll have to wait and see.

Here’s the possible Manchester United line-up for this tie:
