Manchester United will face Stoke City on Saturday at Old Trafford where manager David Moyes will be boosted by the return of talisman striker Robin van Persie.
The Dutchman was absent from United’s last match against Spanish outfit Real Sociedad which the Red Devils won 1-0.
In the defence, Moyes will probably field his first choice centre-backs, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, which means Jonny Evans may have to sit out. Rafael and Patrice Evra will operate from the right and left back positions respectively.
Belgium star Fellaini could return in place of Ryan Giggs in the middle while Tom Cleverely is not fit yet to face Mark Hughes’ side. But the big news from Old Trafford is the return of Van Persie. Javier Hernandez, who started in the last match will warm the bench in that case.
“Robin has a good chance. He’s had problems with his toes and a little bit with his groin as well, but I think he should be OK. He’s had a little bit of training as well. Everybody’s improving and the only one who’s a doubt at the moment is Danny Welbeck, who has some fluid on his knee. Tom Cleverley is still recovering from his calf but overall we’re pretty strong.”
Shinji Kagawa was impressive against Real Sociedad in the midweek and the Japanese should start against Stoke on the left flank.
