Liverpool welcome Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their stay at the top of the Premier League with yet another victory.
The Reds have a slender one point lead over Arsenal and a victory against Southampton will give them their best ever points total after five games of a Premier League season.
There are a few selection headaches for Brendan Rodgers ahead of this match. Daniel Agger is fit again and therefore he should automatically replace Mamadou Sakho at centre-back. Kolo Toure, who featured as a sub against Swansea, could play as a right-back role in place of Andre Wisdom.
Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva will anchor the midfield role, while Luis Alberto could be given a chance here after his impressive hat-trick for the U-21’s.
However the injury to Coutinho has put Rodgers into some spot of bother. New signing Iago Apsas looked fish out of water in the No 10 role against Swansea, something which the gaffer acknowledged. He usually well either upfront or on the left-wide. In that case, Aspas could be given his preferred role on the left hand side, while Victor Moses would be shifted on the right hand side, which means Jordan Henderson could play as no 10 role behind Daniel Sturridge.
