Liverpool will face West Brom at Anfield on Saturday afternoon looking to earn yet another home victory and close the gap with league leaders Arsenal.
The Reds have one massive advantage over their rivals this season – lack of European football and they must capitalize it to full effects. Rodgers has implemented a new formation, 3-4-1-2 to accommodate his two class strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge but problem remains with the supply line.
Rodgers now has almost a fully fit squad to chose from. It can be a headache at times. Therefore he needs to make few key decisions before the match. In the defence, the gaffer needs to make a choice between Daniel Agger and Mamadou Sakho for the third centre-back role. Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho are expected to continue in their wing-back roles.
In the midfield, Jordan Henderson replaced Lucas Leiva in the last couple of matches, but the Brazilian is now fully fit and set to return hence the Englishman will have to pave the way for him. Joe Allen is fit as well, so Rodgers might try a new midfield combination with the Welshman and Henderson as well.
The central problem lies in the no 10 role. Philippe Coutinho has started training again and will be available for selection, but only against Arsenal. So, Rodgers will have to depend on Victor Moses who has barely impressed in that position though Luis Alberto was brilliant with his cameo role against Newcastle towards the end. This could be Liverpool’s possible line up against West Brom:
