A rejuvenated Liverpool take on bottom placed Leicester City on the afternoon of New Year’s day at Anfield. Brendan Rodgers’ side go into the clash at the back of a fantastic 4-1 win over Swansea on Monday night. It was arguably Liverpool’s best performance of the season and the Merseyside giants will be looking to keep up the momentum and grab three points in their kitty again.
Nigel Pearson’s Leicester City travel to Anfield at the back of a huge win over Hull City; their first in 14 games. The Foxes will be looking to get at least something from the encounter but would that they ned to play out of their skin to cause any possible upset. Is they fail to turn up, they might just be at the end of a hammering.
With Marti Skrtel suspended Emre Can looks set to play in defense beside Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho as Rodgers is expected to field his 3-4-3 setup. Dejan Lovren is still injured but is in line for a possible return after having returned to training this week. Steven Gerrard would be hoping for making a return but he might come late on rather than making the starting eleven. Lucas Lieva fis in beside Jordan Henderson while Javier Manquillo and Alberto Moreno will be used in the wing backs role.
Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana are expected to provide enough support to Raheem Sterling up front.
