However, Jose Mourinho will try to plot one of the greatest comebacks for the home side in a bid to save their faltering season.
Team News: Chelsea’s back line remains unchanged with but Nemanja Matic ineligible to feature and Ramires suspended, David Luiz and Frank Lampard are expect to hold fort in midfield.
The triumvirate of Oscar, Willian and Eden Hazard will have to play out of their skin to make sure their team have any chances of qualifying. Mourinho opted for a false nine in Paris with Andre Schurrle given the license to play as the farthest man forward.
However, the German’s inability to carve out spaces for himself proved pivotal to Chelsea’s inability to break down a dogged PSG defense. With Samuel Eto’o out injured, the onus would be on Fernando Torres to lead the line, the Spaniard who loves the grandest of stages to make an impact.
Prediction: 1-1; PSG are more than well placed to advance to the semis with a two goal cushion, but Chelsea would take significant motivation when they beat Napoli by 3-0 in the similar stages of the competition, they won a couple of years ago. It is expected to be a tight affair as Chelsea will score but PSG too, are strong enough to amass a strike of their own.
