Chelsea will travel to Switzerland to face FC Basel in the Champions League Group E tie, where a victory will give Jose Mourinho’s side a great advantage to reach to the next round of this competition.
Team News: The Blues have got a major boost ahead of this match – striker Fernando Torres is fit and returns to the squad, but Brazilian defender David Luiz will miss out with a knee injury. Torres has recovered from the abductor muscle injury that ruled him out for the last three games.
Defence: In absence of Luiz, John Terry and Gary Cahill is expected to start at the central defence. Cesar Azpilicueta, who did a brilliant job at the left back against West Ham, is likely to start again while Branislav Ivanovic will take the right back role.
Midfield: Frank Lampard scored two goals against the Hammers in the last match. But, the veteran midfielder could be rested for this one. Therefore, John Obi Mikel and Ramires are likely to start. Juan Mata could be given a chance along with Oscar and Hazard. Or else, Mourinho has options with Andre Schurrle and Willian as well.
Forward: Fernando Torres has returned back to full fitness and the Spaniard is likely to start ahead of Samuel Eto’o.
Prediction: 1-2; The Blues will be favourite to win and book their place in the next round.
