Chelsea are heading into the most crucial phase of their season both on and off the pitch. The quadruple dream is all but over but the Blues were dramatically dumped out of the FA Cup by Bradford City on Saturday; the pressure is on Chelsea to win against Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final on Tuesday night at the Bridge in order to keep the dreams of winning the treble alive.
The game is evenly poised, after the score read 1-1 from the first leg at Anfield. While Mourinho will be looking for a reaction after his team’s shock exit from the FA Cup, it remains to be seen how he approaches the game tactically, especially with the crunch Premier League tie with Manchester City this weekend would surely be playing on the back of his mind.
Will he go with an all out attack using the home advantage to the fullest? Will he sit back and try to expose Liverpool with sharp counterattacks? Can he afford to take that risk?
