Mauricio Pochettino does seem likely to become a Manchester United manager whenever it happens and the Argentine has a list of demands.
While Pochettino is unlikely to leave his post at Paris Saint-Germain at the moment, the Argentine tactician is considered a favorite for the managerial seat at Old Trafford. The former Tottenham manager was close to signing for a Red Devils a few years ago before United handed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the job on a permanent basis.
This time around though, United are not going to go down that road and while currently they are happy with bringing in an interim manager, they have identified Pochettino as their next full-time manager.
And if the scenario does unfold, the Argentine tactician is going to have a few requests in the transfer market. The PSG tactician is aware of the club’s shortcomings and according to La Razon, is going to ask the club to sign Kieran Trippier.
The English full-back is currently under contract at Atletico Madrid and came really close to signing for United in the summer. Pochettino has a great relationship with the Englishman, having managed him during his time at Tottenham.
At the same time, Pochettino wants the club to make a big money move for France international Jules Kounde who is currently under contract with Seville where he has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the world.
Kounde is not going to come cheap however, with a fee in the region of 90 million euros deemed as the minimum amount to snap up the 23-year-old.
With Harry Maguire struggling with his form at the moment, United do need more depth in defense. On top of that, the club might not be able to see much of Raphael Varane this year so it makes sense for Pochettino to want more options at the back.
