It has gone really for Fernando Torres at Chelsea. Ever since his £50m move from Liverpool in the January transfer window of 2011, form has deserted the Spaniard and the 30 year old now looks a shadow of the player he was at Anfield.
With new striker Diego Costa seeming to fit well for the Blues, Torres is currently warming the sidelines as he has fallen down the pecking order for the Stamford Bridge side. Moreover with Mourinho having a soft corner for Didier Drogba, Torres hasn’t featured for the Blues in the first couple of games of the 2014-15 season.
However reports from BBC claim that Mourinho wants the player to stay with the self proclaimed Special One claiming, “I want him to stay. He will play and score goals, and be very useful for us.”
Italian website TMW has also reported that Torres doesn’t want to switch loyalties n the last week of the transfer window despite having attracted interest from Italian giants Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma.
Earlier in April there were reports that Torres was watched by Inter’s owner Erik Thohir who was present at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s Champions League encounter against PSG at the fag end of the 2013-14 season.
