Petr Cech made his first appearance for Chelsea in the league on Sunday against Arsenal, coming on as a replacement for the injured Thibaut Courtois.
The 32-year-old goal keeper is largely frustrated with the role on the bench and said he would look for a solution if his situation doesn’t improve in the next few months.
“I have not spoken to anyone, but I think they know me well enough at the club to know that the situation is definitely not the way I would imagine,” the goalkeeper told Czech radio while on international duty.
“With the Euros (in 2016) and the national team in mind, there is no time for me to sit on the bench and not to play. If the situation will not start to improve for me, then I will want to solve it.“
Although Jose Mourinho would love to have Cech in the side, a luxury really to have two world class goal keepers, but he really cannot keep both the players happy at the same time.
Courtois is the first choice goal keeper at the club and given his assured performances so far, there is no reason why the Belgium international should be dropped to the bench. At the same time, Cech is too good a player to warm bench week in week out.
Cech is still good enough to play for any top club in the world and therefore a move away from Stamford Bridge could be on the cards.
