Chelsea have reportedly put Petr Cech on sale as on loan to Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thiabut Courtois is set to be the first choice for the Blues next season.

Spanish newspaper Marca claims that manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to avoid yet another controversy involving two goalkeepers, the one between Diego Lopez and Iker Casillas at Real Madrid, hence the Portuguese has set his strategy clear and simple.

Thibaut Courtois

Both Cech and Courtois would create an uneasy atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, hence the Portuguese has reportedly drawn a line to the long serving Cech’s career at Chelsea.

Courtois has spent the previous three seasons on-loan at Atletico Madrid since joining Chelsea from Belgium side Genk in 2011 and the young Belgian has enjoyed a superb season under the guidance of manager Diego Simeone winning the La Liga title and finishing runners up in the Champions League.

Czech International, Cech had missed the last few games in the Premier League season after suffering a shoulder injury suffered in the Champions League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid.

The exit of the 32-year-old shot stopper would depict yet another exit of the Chelsea ‘old guard after Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard were released by the London club following the expiry of their contracts.
