Real Madrid defender Pepe has admitted that he doesn’t miss Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and that he is happy with the way Carlo Ancelotti has taken the club to a new level.
During Mourinho’s reign at Real Madrid, the Portuguese fell out with several high profile players, including Pepe. The Portugal international says it was a different era that is over now and reveals that the training sessions under Ancelotti is more intense.
In the same interview with Cope, he was asked to comment on possible interest from Manchester United. Pepe was linked with a move to both the Manchester clubs before, but the Madrid defender is not keen to move now.
“Two years ago they speculated I might leave. It’s normal these type of clubs are interested.”
“But I think it’ll be very difficult for me to leave R Madrid, because I love the club; I’ve earned my place and my family is happy.”
Pepe also commented on Bale saying his confidence is shaken at the moment and that is something the club is working on the training everyday.
Manchester United are in need of a central defender in summer but insiders within the club suggests that Pepe is not one of their targets. Louis van Gaal rather is keen to land either of Aymeric Laporte or Mats Hummels in summer.
