Paul Pogba transfer

Paul Pogba is a special talent. He was one of the best young talents in Manchester United’s academy, however, due to multitude reasons, the Red Devils couldn’t hold on to him, and was eventually transferred to Serie A giants Juventus in 2012.

The 21-year-old, who was already blessed with immense talent, rose to stardom at Juventus, and went on to establish himself as a regular member in the France national team.

Naturally, top European clubs are circling about him, trying to secure his services. Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City and even Manchester United have had been linked with Pogba in recent past on numerous occasion.

The French midfielder has always pledged his commitment to Juventus, and only few weeks ago has extended his contract with the Turin giants. He now earns about €4.5m per year after taxes, which puts him into the bracket of highest earners in the Italian league.

Pogba’s name has time and again been linked with Chelsea, as he was spotted in London during the summer while was seen playing Football Manager video game, where he purchased himself for Chelsea.

Reputed Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has an exclusive report on Pogba for Italian website Calciomercato. He claims that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola, who is also an agent of Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, held a meeting last Friday with Premier League champions Manchester City.

He claims the meeting has been positive and now the door is open for Pogba to make a move, either in January or next summer.

To be honest, contracts hardly matter these days. We have seen Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez, signing lucrative contracts for Tottenham and Liverpool, before they moved on to join Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively the following summer.

Likewise, Pogba’s contract extension could be a ploy for Juventus to sell him for a high transfer fee, which Palmeri thinks is around €70m.

Manchester City could be looking to sign one or two players in January, but will they go after Pogba, especially they now need a striker to replace Sergio Aguero, who could be on the sidelines for few months’ with injury.

A world class player like Pogba would transform any team in the world, but Chelsea already have the likes of Nemanja Matic, who plays in the same position and performs similar role in the team, therefore it remains to be seen whether the Blues actually take any counter move.
