Newsboys Cheltenham Tips – Day Four
1.30 Triumph Hurdle – VAUBAN @ 13/8 with BetUK
Hard to fault his easy win in Ireland last time out and looks another Mullins superstar in the making. Take take this before heading onto bigger things next season.
2.10 County Hurdle – I LIKE TO MOVE IT @ 10/1 with BetUK
CD winner here for the Twiston-Davies yard and was a fine second in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury last month. Has won 3 of his 5 starts over hurdles and looks a nice e/w price.
2.50 Albert Bartlett Nov Hurdle – HILLCREST @ 5/2 with BetUK
Tank of a horse with loads of potential. Has won 4 of his 5 starts over hurdles and would have been 5-from-5 has he not unseated here two runs back.
3.30 Cheltenham Gold Cup – GALVIN @ 7/2 with BetUK
Landed the NH Chase at this meeting last season so staying and stamina is assured. Has returned this season in cracking form – beating A Plus Tard in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. Freshened up for this and has the experience of Davy Russell in the saddle.
4.10 St James’s Hunters’ Chase – WINGED LEADER @ 13/2 with BetUK
Beat the favourite for this race – Billaway – by 12 lengths last time out but is double that ones price. Is still only an 8 year-old too so has the scope for a lot more improvement and heads here not knowing how to lose – winning his last five!
4.50 Mares’ Chase – CONCERTISTA @ 4/1 with BetUK
Is a Festival regular these days – this will be her fourth run at this meeting. Won the Mares’ Hurdle in 2000 and is yet to finish out of the first two at this fixture. Taken well to fences this season (2-from-2) and so another big Festival showing is on the cards.
5.30 Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle – HOLLOW GAMES @ 13/2 with BetUK
Has some very solid form to his name – running third to Minella Cocooner last time in a G1 in Ireland and the Elliott yard love to win this race.
