Isaac Hayden has been linked with a move away from Newcastle in recent weeks, and Steve Bruce must look to bring in a quality replacement.
Even if Hayden stays at the club, Newcastle must add more depth to their midfield positions, and the Swedish youngster seems like a good fit.
The Magpies are keen on signing Joe Willock on loan from Arsenal following his successful spell with the club during the second half of last season.
Brentford are looking to improve their squad following promotion to the Premier League, and Cajuste fits the profile of players they tend to sign.
There is no mention of any potential offer from the Premier League clubs for Cajuste, and it is unclear whether Newcastle or Brentford will follow up their reported interest.
Cajuste is highly rated, and the Premier League duo will have to make their move quickly if they want to fend off the competition.
