Ivory Coast topped the Group D with two wins and a draw. A late winner by Gervinho against Togo in their opening fixture saw them win 2-1. In their second game, they faced Tunisia; the Ivorians won 3-0. In their final group game, they made a sensational come back from 2-0 down to draw level with Alegeria.
In the quarterfinal, they face Nigeria on 3rd February in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. If they go through, they will face the winner of South Africa vs Mali.
