After Anthony Martial joined Manchester United in a deadline day move from Monaco, Lyon striker Nabil Fekir has revealed his love for the Old Trafford side claiming he would love to play for the Old Trafford side one day. As reported by French media outlet Europe 1 the 22 year old was quoted saying, “Why not play one day in Manchester United. It is a club of dreams.”

However, he immediately claimed that he is happy at Lyon and wants to have a good season and there after, he can think of his future. The French youngster scored a remarkable hattrick against Caen last weekend helping his side cruise to a 4-0 win. Fekir also grabbed an assist which capped off a remarkable performance.

After breaking into the Lyon first team last season, the striker took Ligue 1 by storm last season scoring 13 league goals in 34 matches. His tally was bettered only by Alexandre Lacazette at the club. Fekir came through the ranks of Lyon’s B team where he had spent three years. He also won Ligue 1’s Young Player of the Year award last season.

Bleacher Report has quoted Ligue 1 expert Matt Spiro who claimed earlier in the summer that Fekir recently earned a new contract and a hefty pay rise at Lyon. The player now has a contract with the French club till 2020 and it is highly unlikely that he will leave in the coming couple of seasons.

Regrading Martial’s transfer to United, Fekir said “Anthony is a very good player, I played with him in Lyon. Of course this is a very large sum. We know that clubs like that are able to pay that kind of money for good players.”
