Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus is a target for several European heavyweights but it seems that Manchester United and Manchester City are doing their best to sign the top class talent this summer.
Earlier this month there were reports that Manchester City have submitted a bid higher than the player’s release clause and have convinced the player to join them.
Apparently Pep Guardiola personally called the player and informed him of his plans at Etihad.
Then came the interest from Manchester United. Jose Mourinho is keen on signing the Brazilian forward this summer and has informed Palmeiras that they will submit a higher offer for him today.
Globo Esporte report that Manchester United will table a bid in the region of 38 million Euros for the attacker.
The Old Trafford outfit seem desperate to hijack Guardiola’s move for the South American and Mourinho is looking to call the player personally in order to convince him to snub City.
The player is expected to be loaned back to Palmeiras next season regardless of who signs him.
Jesus is highly rated in South America right now and is focused on the Olympics this summer. The player attracted a lot of interest after his sensational performances in 2016 when he scored 13 goals in 23 appearances.
