Jose Mourinho could be appointed as the next Manchester United manager before the Old Trafford outfit play their next league game against Arsenal.
The former Chelsea manager has been linked with a move to Old Trafford over the last couple of months and now there are reports claiming that United could replace Van Gaal before the end of the season.
The Premier League giants crashed to yet another humiliating defeat against Sunderland and the Old Trafford hierarchy has apparently run out of patience.
Meanwhile, Van Gaal renting a house in greater Manchester on a short term lease has further fuelled speculations that the Dutchman is aware of his fate.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United have indeed lost faith in their manager and are willing to give Mourinho a chance to turn things around this season.
The Red Devils are some way off the fourth and final Champions league spot and will need a bit of luck to break into top four this season. Although there are no guarantees in football, it is evident that United are in need of a change.
Mourinho’s arrival could freshen things up and motivate the players to end the season strongly.
