As Chelsea are closing in on a £23.3m deal to sign Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, Mohammed Salah is heading the other way to the Italian side on loan till the end of the season.
Chelsea will however be paying the winger’s salary as a part of the deal. According to reports from the reliable TMW website who have cited Italian outlet La Nazione, Salah is expected to undergo a medical tomorrow before his proposed transfer move.
Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella who was desperate to keep Cuadrado however was happy with the Egyptian’s imminent arrival, “He is a good player, a very interesting player. He is a strong winger.”
Chelsea had signed Salah from Swiss side Basel for a fee in the region of £11m but the player hardly made an impact for the Stamford Bridge side. The winger has hardly played this season and the move augurs well for him personally as he would get more game-time on the pitch rather than warming the sidelines in such a delicate stage of his career.
Salah was earlier linked with a move to Inter Milan but recent developments will see him sport the famous Viola shit in the Serie A.
