Mohamed Salah has made terrific impact for Fiorentina since his loan move from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
At Chelsea, Salah was largely ignored and the Egyptian winger had struggled for regular game time. He was sent on loan to Fiorentina as a part of the deal that saw Chelsea signing Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.
While Cuadrado has struggled to make an impact, Salah has been a firing all cylinders for the Viola. The 22-year-old scored his seventh goal with this brilliant solo effort effort against Empoli.
Jose Mourinho praised Salah recently and said kind words about his quick success in Italy, but that hardly lifts the question mark hanging over his long term future at Chelsea.
“(Salah] is doing well with La Viola, let’s hope that continues because it is just what we wanted when we wanted to send him to Florence,” said Mourinho in a recent interview.
Fiorentina may look to sign permanently in the summer while there are sure to be other European heavyweights interested as well.
