Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has likened on loan Chelsea star Mohamed Salah’s dribbling prowess to Lionel Messi. The Florence based side booked their place in the quarter finals of the Europa League with a stunning 3-0 away win over Roma in the second leg taking the aggregate score to 4-1 over two legs.
Salah who joined Fiorentina on loan in January as part of the deal that saw Juan Cuadrado move to Chelsea has been in stunning for the Serie A side. Montella is thus delighted with how quickly the Egyptian winger has adjusted to unknown conditions in Italy.
He said as quoted by Four Four Two, “So far perhaps we got the better end of that deal. We knew Salah’s characteristics, but didn’t expect him to have such an immediate impact in Italian football. Perhaps only Leo Messi is quicker than him with the ball at his feet.”
In fact Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had also praised Salah a couple of days ago. The winger has scored six goals in just eight appearances which would surely count as one of January’s top signings.
Mourinho was quoted by the Daily Star as saying: “Salah is doing well with La Viola, let’s hope that continues because it is just what we wanted when we wanted to send him to Florence.”
