Reigning European champions Real Madrid are looking to secure the signature of Martin Odegaard, who is currently training with Liverpool, within next 10 days.
The Norwegian prodigy, as per reports, is currently in Liverpool, where he has been accompanied by his father. He has been spotted dinning out with Reds player Coutinho and even trained with Liverpool first team at Melwood, as he weighs up option for his next move.
Odegaard is considered one of the brightest young prospects in world football (often compared with Lionel Messi), having made his debut for Norway already and becoming the youngest ever player to have played in European qualifiers.
The youngster will be eligible to sign a new contract when he turns 16 on Dec 17 is a self-confessed Liverpool fan. Recently, he gave an interview to Bild as quoted by The Telegraph:
“Liverpool have always been my dream club. But I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club. It’s all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development. That is not necessarily Liverpool.
I haven’t really thought about my future yet. I will end the season here and then visit a number of clubs. I have not made a final decision yet, though. Of course, it’s flattering when you hear that big clubs are after you, but I don’t think about it too often.”
Spanish newspaper Marca, however, feels that Real Madrid are close to secure his signature, and the Los Blancos are expecting it to do so in 10 days’ time.

They claim the youngster paid visit to Valdebebas last month where he and his father seemed convinced with the Real Madrid’s project. Real Madrid, on their part, are not willing to make the same mistake they did with Neymar, who eventually joined Barcelona.
Marca claim Florentino Perez will do everything to secure the Liverpool target and pay any sum to sign the Stromsgodset player.
Real Madrid have shifted their transfer policy a bit, where more young talented players will be incorporated into the side on a regular basis. Marco Asensio is the first of that long list of talented additions – the 18-year-old Spanish winger was signed yesterday by the Los Blancos, but will continue his education with Real Mallorca for the rest of the season.
