Chelsea transfer: Cuadrado is a wanted man in Italy

Serie A champions Juventus have splashed big money this summer in adding top quality players to their already star studded squad. The Bianconeri are once again favourite to win the Serie A title next season and with the players they have bought in, it is expected of them to do well in the Champions League once again.

Yesterday the club confirmed the signing of Neto, who joined from Fiorentina for a reported fee of 9m. The other heavy weight summer additions include German midfielder Sami Khedira from Real Madrid for 18m, Paulo Dybala (28m) and Mario Mandzukic (20m) from Palermo and Atletico Madrid respectively.

The loss of Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo will hurt the club, no doubt, but with Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba, both expected to stay, Juventus have done really well in the transfer market to replenish their void.

Beppe Marotta, CEO of the club, is happy with the way Juventus have conducted their business so far. He believes the squad is more competitive now and has the right balance. At the same time he insisted that the club would still be looking to sign good players before the window shuts down.

Chelsea duo Juan Cuadrado and Mohamed Salah have been heavily linked with a move to Juventus in the summer.

Cuadrado joined Chelsea in the January transfer window from Fiorentina as a part of the deal that saw Mohamed Salah going the other way.

“Cuadrado is an interesting player, but he belongs to Chelsea. Not ours. So I can’t comment further on this. We are open to all possibilities. If Chelsea want to sell, we would be happy to loan him” said Marotta, when asked to comment whether Juventus could make a move for Cuadrado.

Jose Mourinho is unimpressed with Cuadrado and has asked Jorge Mendes to negotiate a deal with possible suitors for the winger.
