It appears that after the arrival of James Rodriguez for €80m at the Santiago Bernebau, there would be no chance for the Argentine to muster a regular starting eleven spot for the Los Blancos. Manchester United too have been interested in the winger but it now appears thay have admitted defeat in their chase for the former Benfica player.

Reputed Ligue One journalist Jonathan Johnson also cited El Confidencial saying Di Maria’s agent Jorge Mendes is already in Paris to finalize a move for the 26 year old.

It is also believed that Florentino Perez is tired with the player’s excessive demand for a significant rise wages after a strong showing at the World Cup in Brazil. The Madrid side have already indicated that they won’t sell the World Cup runner up for anything less than €60m, a price which PSG are willing to meet but are concerned about UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

The imminent arrival of Di Maria at the French capital however might signal the end of his national team mate Ezequiel Lavezzi’s career at the club. According to reports by reputed Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Juventus are stepping up their interest for the Chelsea target whose price tag appears to be dipping well below the €20m mark. TMW have also reported the story.

Lavezzi joined PSG for £24m from Napoli in 2012 and was in red hot form last season scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances for Lauren Blanc’s side. Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested and keen to land the 29 year old but it is believed that the Serie A champions are moving quickly in the market and will have to wait till Di Maria completes his move to Paris to sign Lavezzi.
