baleManchester United’s hope of signing Gareth Bale have been dashed after the forward revealed that he is happy at Real Madrid and is not willing to leave the Santiago Bernabéu in the near future.

The 25-year-old joined the Spanish capital club in the summer of 2013 and his current deal will expire in 2019. Despite that, Bale has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent times.

The Telegraph reported that the Welshman could return to the Premier League by joining United next summer, if the price is right. However, Bale has now put all the speculations to bed.

“I am happy in Madrid, I love the club, the climate and the city. I really want to win more titles here . I have a contract with Real until 2019 and could be even more,” Bale explained.

This comes just days after Real president Florentino Pérez admitted that the Spanish capital club are in no mood to encourage rumours suggesting that Bale will leave his current employers.

“We have not received an offer from Manchester or any other club for Gareth Bale. We would never listen to any offer for Bale, no matter what the fee,” Pérez said.

United manager Louis van Gaal had earlier refused to discuss the possibility of signing the former Tottenham superstar next summer.

“I discuss that with my CEO [Ed Woodward] and not with anyone of the media,” Van Gaal said when asked about Bale.

With speculations from Spain and the UK, both Bale and Real president had to come out and respond to the reports surrounding Bale’s future. For now, Bale is at Real and the transfer rumours could resurface as and when we come to the final few weeks of this season.
