After back to back defeats in the Premier League, Manchester United will look to return to winning ways at the expense of Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

David Moyes

The Red Devils have already qualified to the knock out phase of the competition, but David Moyes would be looking for nothing less than a victory tomorrow at the Old Trafford.

Manchester United are really struggling on the domestic front. Following their defeat at the hands of Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend, the Champions have dropped to 9th in the league table, 13 points behind leaders Arsenal.

On the contrary, their European journey has been brilliant so far. They sit on top of the Group A table and even a draw against the Ukrainian side will cement that position. The Red Devils are undefeated in the last five matches in the Champions League while have kept a clean sheet in their last three matches. They are at evens with Ladbrokes to register a win against Shakhtar on Tuesday.

Team News

David Moyes will be without the services of injured Michael Carrick, Chris Smalling and Darren Fletcher for this tie. Shinji Kagawa is expected to return to the squad and has trained today. Skipper Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra are all doubts while Marouane Fellaini also failed to train this morning.

Wayne Rooney is expected to return after serving a one-game ban, while Van Persie might be rested for this tie.

Manchester United Likely Line-Up

Rooney is back and will take up the lone strike role, while Kagawa may drop in the no 10 position. Moyes could deploy either of Welbeck or Nani on the left wing.

Prediction: 2-0, Manchester United will have to bounce back to winning ways and this is a good opportunity for them to do so.
