Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for Napoli star Marek Hamsik in a deal that could see Shinji Kagawa move to Italy.

The Slovakian had signed a new deal with the Naples side last year, but he has struggled to libe up to his standards under new manager Rafa Benitez.

The 26 year old has just managed 6 goals and 9 assists in 39 appearances for Napoli this season and has been in poor form since the start of 2014.

The Napoli captain also looks anonymous and out of place in Benitez’s 4-2-3-1 setup where he can find little space from the deep or float between the defensive midfield and the attacking third with great freedom. Hamsik was also benched in Napoli’s 4-2 win over Lazio in the weekend.

United manager David Moyes is keen to bolster his beleaguered squad in the summer following a dismal camapaign in his first season in charge. the Scot is expected to use Japanese Shinji Kagawa as a bait who has a similar playing style to that of the Slovakian.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Inter Milan also want Hamsik offering either  Mateo Kovacic or Fredy Guarin to the Partenopei. The Nerazzuri manager Walter Mazzarri, who was earlier in charge of Napoli wants to renew ties with the 26 year old.

Napoli would be unwilling to let go one of their prized assets but the sales of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani have shown that they could be tempted with the whooping money on offer.

So what do you think? Will Napoli tie down Hamsik to the Stadio Sao Paolo? Or will Manchester United grab the Slovakian?
