Manchester United have been linked with a move for the highly talented Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Portuguese midfielder has turned heads with his outstanding displays in La Liga over the last year and is a target for several clubs including Italian champions Juventus.
Earlier this year, rumours surfaced that the player’s agent Jorge Mendes has promised to deliver the player to Manchester United and therefore since the appointment of Jose Mourinho, those rumours have only intensified.
Reputed journalist Alfredo Pedulla is now reporting that Manchester United have submitted a bid for the La Liga star. The Red Devils have bid £35.2m for the Portuguese midfielder, plus £11.7m in bonuses.
Mendes also represents Mourinho and will help the Manchester United manager land Gomes this summer. Manchester United are in desperate need of a creative central midfielder and Gomes is one of the finest young midfielders around.
In other news, Manchester United are also closing in on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swedish international has already agreed terms with the club earlier this week and will be allowed a break from the national team to finalise his move.
Zlatan has worked with Mourinho before and the duo are thought to be looking forward to the reunion.
The 34 year old striker is in the form of his life and scored 50 goals in 51 games last season. He has rejected several big money offers from China and MLS to come to the Premier league.
