Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has ordered the club’s board of directors to accept an offer from Real Madrid, for goalkeeper David De Gea.
De Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all summer and despite Manchester United’s insistence that the player is not for sale, it seems Van Gaal has given up on his number one keeper.
Manchester United Transfer: De Gea keen to return
De Gea has been the best player for Manchester United last season and will be huge loss to the team, especially with just a week left for the season to start.
It is believed that De Gea is keen to return to Madrid, his hometown, and Real Madrid are keen.
David De Gea Transfer: Replacement for Casillas
Club legend, Iker Casillas left Real Madrid this season and Florentino Perez wants a high profile replacement. David De Gea is arguably the third best keeper in the world after Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
Manchester United Transfer: Sale the only option now?
Van Gaal insisted on Sergio Ramos, if De Gea were to leave, but the Spanish centre back is close to signing a new 5 year deal at Real Madrid and it seems United have their lost their bargaining chip.
Van Gaal has asked the United board to cash in on De Gea now instead of losing him on a free transfer next summer. Also, the Dutchman is not keen on holding onto a disinterested player.
De Gea’s exit will be the third high profile sale at United this summer after Robin Van Persie and the imminent transfer of Di Maria to PSG.
David De Gea Transfer: Alternatives?
Manchester United have been linked with alternatives in Jasper Cillessen and even the Real Madrid number two, Keylor Navas.
Although both of them are decent keepers, it is beyond doubt that De Gea is clearly a level above them.
With just a few weeks remaining in the window, it seems United have got a lot to do after a promising start.
