Manchester United are in talks to sign Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao for the rest of the season, according to The Telegraph.
Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese agent, who has a close connection with Manchester United, has told the club that Coentrao is keen to revive a loan move that collapsed on the transfer deadline-day in summer.
The Red Devils are in the hunt of a left-back for quite some time now, with David Moyes attempted to lure Everton defender Leighton Baines.
The report says Moyes was initially unsure where the Real Madrid defender would improve the squad significantly, as he missed quite a chunk of the season through injury, but feels the need to try to make at least one big signing this month to appease disgruntled supporters.
The Daily Mail reports today that three Manchester United players – Anderson, Nani and Wilfried Zaha – will face the exit door this month.
Anderson has only made 4 appearances in the league this season, while £15m rated Zaha, who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson last season, could seal a loan move to Cardiff City under former Man United great Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Nani’s position is interesting as well. The Portuguese, who renewed his contract with United that will keep him at the club till 2018, has featured only 8 times in the league this season and has failed to bag an assist or a goal to his name.
