Juan Mata believes that Manchester United can fight for all possible trophies next season, despite enduring a poor first season under David Moyes.

The Red Devils are struggling badly this season. Already out of all the domestic cup competitions, they are currently seventh in the league and there is a genuine fear that they will lose out on a Champions League spot.

Furthermore, they are currently heading out of Europe, having suffered a 2-0 Champions League last 16 defeat at the hands of Olympiakos last week, with Moyes’ side needing three goals in the second leg to stand a chance of going through.

“I think Man Utd is always going to be fighting for every title,” Mata defiantly told The Sun.

“This season in the Premier League we were not winning that well earlier in the season, but I think next year and the years coming this team is going to fight for every title.”

“It is what it has to do and what it has always being doing.”

“When you are outside of the club you see Man Utd as one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

“And being inside you have time to realise it is true.”

Mata was not considered for this Wednesday’s international friendly against Italy, denting his hopes of securing a place in the Spanish national team for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

However, the Spaniard feels that he has made the right decision in moving to Manchester United, saying,

“It’s been very good. From the first day I’ve felt really happy. Playing for this club is a big challenge for any player and for me as well.”

“I feel I am at the perfect age to improve as a player and a person, so I think it will be a really good move for me.”
