It doesn’t need any rocket science to understand that a massive rebuilding work will take place next season at Manchester United. There could be a mass exodus and like wise, there could be few additions as well, with manager David Moyes will be given the funds to sculpt the squad according to his own taste.
While midfield remains the major concern, Moyes needs to address his defensive problems as well. A need for a central defender is essential but at the same time, the Scot must be looking to find a suitable replacement for left-back Patrice Evra.
Evra has been at the club since 2006, but with his contract expiring at the end of the season, it seems his future lies elsewhere.
Going by the media reports, Manchester United have stepped up their chase for young Luke Shaw, but the youngster won’t come in cheap, especially with Chelsea vying for his signature as well.
According to French media, Manchester United have approached OM over the availability of 19-year-old left back Benjamin Mendy.
Marseille are currently going through a parlous financial constraint and therefore president Vincent Labrune needs to sell couple of players to balance the book. And of them could be Mendy, should good offers come for him.
The player himself has stated his desire to test himself at a bigger stage with England being his preferred destination:
“I have always dreamt of playing in England so I am happy to be linked with English clubs. I know it is a big step to go there straight away, but if you want to progress in Europe you need to play at the top level.”
He is young and exciting and would come at a cheaper price than Shaw. We will keep you updated on this, as we get info further.
