Robin Van Persie hasn’t been at his best over the last couple of seasons for Manchester United. It is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement had a huge impact on the Dutchman’s career at Old Trafford. The 31 year old who lost his touch for the Red Devils might be sold next summer. At least, that’s exactly what reports from London based Media Outlet London Evening Standard have mentioned.
The story claims that the Old Trafford outfit are reluctant to pay the former Arsenal star an additional of £10m in loyalty bonuses. Van Persie has such a clause if he sees out his four-year contract at Old Trafford.
Thus, the Dutchman could be shipped off next summer. Moreover there are even concerns on his fitness levels and the Red Devils could look at PSG’s Edinson Cavani or Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller as a possible replacement. Cavani though has a transfer price of €65m and as we had reported in the summer, he is also a Chelsea and Arsenal target.
Van Persie has just 3 goals this season with a miserable shot conversion rate of just 13.6 per cent. Earlier this month we had reported that Turkish side Fenerbache are interested to sign Van Persie. But expect the Dutchman to end in Real Madrid or nouveau riche French side Monaco is United do sell their superstar.
