Manchester United are reportedly dead-set on Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw, with a colossal £50m double swoop primed for the summer.
The pair have come to the fore this season in what has been a tremendous campaign for the Saints, and are very much part of Roy Hodgson’s England setup.
Lallana and Shaw have attracted a host of European giants with their respective performances, with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea also said to be sniffing around.
But it’s Manchester United who are the most likely to snap up the dynamic duo in the summer, claim talkSPORT, with David Moyes eager to conclude the deal before the start of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Lallana, 25, made his England debut against Chile last November, and has captained Southampton to eighth in the table, just six points behind Manchester United.
His nine goals and nine assists this season have seen him become one of the most influential midfielders in the English top flight, with manager Mauricio Pochettino recently likening his skipper to the likes of Barcelona pair Fabregas and Iniesta.
His teammate Shaw, who is just 18, has been earmarked as a potential successor to Ashley Cole in the England setup, and Jose Mourinho reportedly believing Shaw can also do the job at Chelsea.
But despite being a Chelsea fan from birth, Shaw is now said to be nearer to a move to United, with David Moyes set to revolutionise his flailing squad in the summer, starting with the young defender and his swashbuckling midfield colleague, Lallana.
