Manchester United will test Real Madrid’s resolve by making an audacious bid in signing their star duo of Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane.
According to the reports in Spain, Mundo Deportivo claims that the Red Devils are preparing €150m bid in landing the forward and the defender in the summer transfer window. After finishing fourth in the league table, the Premier League club wants to compete for the title next season.
Louis van Gaal wants to sign world class players, who can help him build a title winning squad. Bale has endured a poor second season with the 10-times European champions and has been heavily criticised by a large section of Real fans.
The Wales international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since the start of this calendar year. The player remains keen to continue with the Spanish capital club and prove his worth.
United need to bring in an experienced centre-back in order to further strengthen their back four. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager wants Varane as well to bolster his side’s defence.
However, Real are not willing to let either Bale or Varane leave the club in the summer transfer window. The La Liga giants have already rejected United’s proposal in signing the star duo.
The Los Blancos are keen on signing the Red Devils’ goalkeeper David De Gea. The Spain international has one year left on his contract and has already turned down the chance to sign a lucrative deal.
De Gea wants a summer move to Real and the Spanish outfit are already keen on signing him. United are holding this to negotiate a deal with the European giants in signing Bale and Varane.
With two clubs not willing to let their star players leave, United and Real fans could expect a lengthy saga when it comes to De Gea’s situation.
