Manchester United have submitted a £39m bid for the Brazilian midfielder, Felipe Anderson.
The Lazio star has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since last summer and it seems that despite a setback in the summer, United are not ready to give up on their transfer target just yet.
According to reports, Manchester United had a £37m bid rejected for the young attacking midfielder last summer and after fresh talks with his representatives, the Old Trafford outfit have decided to submit an improved bid of £39m.
It will be interesting to see if Lazio decide to accept the improved offer at the end of the season. The Italians were unwilling to sell their prized asset in the middle of the season. But at the end of the season, it will be a different story.
Meanwhile, former Italy international and AC Milan star Gennaro Gattuso has claimed that he would walk to Manchester if they offered him the manager’s job.
Louis Van Gaal is expected to step down at the end of the season and Manchester United are looking to appoint a new manager.
Gattuso is currently managing the Lega Pro side Pisa and has claimed that he is ready to replace the Dutchman at the end of the season.
“[Sir Alex] Ferguson has always respected me — and I have always admired the Premier League which, for me, is the best league in the world.”
“In Italy, we are tactical masters, but in England, you see pacey players — with great strength in their legs.”
“I record two Championship matches a night”, he added.
