Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is reportedly moving closer to securing a summer move to Serie A side Inter Milan, and a deal may be agreed in the next few days.

Inter Milan had appeared as potential January suitors for the 32-year-old, but now Silvia Vallini of Sky Italia has claimed that the Serie A side are almost certain to procure the centre-back in the summer.

Vallini has been accredited with the rumour by fellow Italian journalist and transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, who goes on to say that the Serb could even agree a deal with the Nerazzurri in the next few days.

Vidic’s agent started a chain of events last month by announcing that it was unlikely the Serbian would extend his contract at Old Trafford, with his deal currently set to expire at the end of the season.

“Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him,” Vidic’s agent Silvano Martina told Radio Crc in Napoli,

“Vidic is a very good player and will have no trouble finding a new club. For the time being we are remaining calm. However, at the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United.”

Fiorentina have also been linked with a move for the United man, who has been at Old Trafford since 2006, but it now seems Inter are closing in on their man.
