According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid for David De Gea and the Spanish club are confident of closing the deal today.
The Spanish keeper has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all summer and it seems that the Old Trafford outfit are finally willing to agree a compromise and let go of the player.
According to manager, Louis Van Gaal, De Gea is not focused enough at Manchester United and has refused to play for the club. In such circumstances it is perhaps wise to let go of the player.
An unsettled player will not aid United’s cause in the long run and the prospect of losing a world class player on a free next summer is extremely scary. Real Madrid are willing to offer 25 million pounds for the former Atletico keeper and are confident about the deal.
Initially reluctant to sanction a transfer below 35 million pounds, United have dropped their asking price because of the player’s stance and Jorge Mendes’ involvement in the Anthony Martial transfer.
The Portuguese agent helped United complete the transfer of the Monaco striker, who is expected to undergo his medical later today.
David De Gea is also expected to complete his Real Madrid move before midnight.
