According to Telegraph, Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has asked the Mexican striker, Javier Hernandez to leave the club if he wishes.
Hernandez was on loan at Real Madrid last season and has failed to impress Van Gaal. His penalty miss against Brugge is thought to be the final nail in the coffin.
Van Gaal has asked Hernandez to look for a new club and is willing to sanction a transfer even though his side has just one specialist striker in Wayne Rooney.
It seems that Van Gaal is more keen to use the likes of Fellaini, Depay and Januzaj as makeshift strikers in case of an emergency.
Javier Hernandez has been linked with a move to West Ham earlier this summer.
It will be interesting to see if the Mexican chooses to stay and fight for his place.
Manchester United are unlikely to sign a striker this summer and with just three days remaining, the only high profile transfer at United could be the exit of David De Gea.
The Spaniard is keen to move to Real Madrid this summer and is confident that an agreement can be reached before Tuesday’s deadline.
Agent Jorge Mendes is in town to iron out all the details and ensure that his client gets his move.
