Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says that he would quit the managerial job should he feel he had lost the faith of the dressing room.
Van Gaal adds that he has the backing of his players and the club’s owners, as United aiming the finish season within top four.
United are currently occupying the fourth position in the table and concedes that Chelsea are favourites to win the Premier League this season.
“When I think the chemistry between the players and the manager is not good enough anymore, then I go,” said Van Gaal as quoted by The Mirror.
“It is not a question, I can go for myself also. I am in my first season here and I can still win the title, but that will probably go to Chelsea.
“What we have to do is continue in our process. But we have been in the top four longer than Arsenal this season. That is true.”
United have a tough set of fixtures from here on – they face the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Everton – and favourable results from these games will help them secure the top four spot.
