The clash between the two Premier League sides will be exciting one as the newcomers will take on Liverpool, who are breathing a fresh air under their new manager Jurgen Klopp. It will be the German manager’s third consecutive home match in all competitions.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager has now managed to win in all three matches he has managed as the Merseyside club settled for a 1-1 draw. A Capital One Cup tie against the Premier League outfit will be a perfect way to start his first win as Liverpool manager.

Summer signing Christian Benteke scored a powerful header of James Milner’s inch-perfect cross agianst Southampton. They were on the brink of a victory, until Sadio Mane scored the equaliser and made Klopp wait for his first success.

The Anfield club have five draws in five matches where they scored four goals and conceded the same amount of goals in the process. Liverpool fans will be hoping their win less streak could end in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

Eddie Howe has seen his side struggle in recent times as they are without a win in last five matches, which includes defeats in last four fixtures. They have conceded 15 goals in these fixtures and Bournemouth would be looking to avoid leaking goals against Liverpool. These two teams met at the same venue for the league tie and it ended 1-0 in the Reds’ favour.

Team News

Both teams have six players on the sidelines and it will be crucial for Klopp and Howe to use their squad players for rotation. Daniel Sturridge’s ongoing injury is slowly turning out to be an issue for Liverpool as he has spent more time on the sidelines in the last two years.

Jordan Rossiter is also sidelined with a hamstring injury and he will miss the Capital One Cup tie. A metatarsal fracture has ruled out Jordan Henderson and the Reds would be eagerly waiting for the return of their skipper.

Jon Flanagan has also spent more time on the sidelines and the defender is not expected to return until the end of the calendar year. ACL injury has ruled out summer signings Joe Gomez and Danny Ings for most part of this season.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth has two of their star players sidelined for a lengthy spell due to ACL injury. Callum Wilson and Max Gradel will not return to action until April next year. An ankle injury has ruled out Tommy Elphick until December and the trio are joined by Harry Arter, Tyrone Mings and Lee Tomlin.
