In other news, Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto will return to Anfield after a successful loan spell at Deportivo La Coruna.

The former Barcelona youth player was on loan at the La Liga club last season and was one of their best players all season.

The player will now return to Liverpool where he will have talks with Jurgen Klopp before deciding his long term future.

His agent Alvaro Torres said: “He belongs to Liverpool and has to return. We have already been informed that he will attend the pre-season with Liverpool.”

“During the transfer market in May, we know little. The first thing is to talk with Liverpool and see what opinion they have on Alberto.”

The Spaniard had very little chance of making the grade under Rodgers and was therefore loaned out.

Since then Alberto has improved and matured a lot. Earlier this year he revealed that he had very positive conversations with Klopp and it will be interesting to see if the German retains him for next season.

Klopp wants to assess the former Barcelona player before deciding if they want to renew his contract. Alberto’s deal at Liverpool expires next summer and they could cash in on him right now.

With the likes of Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana already at the club, it is tough to see where Liverpool will accommodate someone like Alberto. The Spaniard is best suited to a number ten role which is occupied by Firmino right now.

Notorious striker Mario Balotelli is on his way back to Liverpool as well.
