Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been attracting a lot of interest from European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

The Brazilian bagged his first international hattrick yesterday night and has been a standout performer for Liverpool over the last two seasons. Although he is far from a polished material yet, Coutinho is still playing at a level higher than most.

According to Spanish daily Marca, Paris Saint-Germain submitted a 30 million euros bid for the Liverpool playmaker, but the Premier League giants rejected it immediately. It is understood that Liverpool are not ready to sell the player under any circumstances right now and the player might need to force a move for anything to happen this summer.

In other news, the out of favour Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has confirmed that he wishes to stay at Liverpool and play under Jurgen Klopp next season, but he needs assurances that he will be in the manager’s plans.

Benteke joined Liverpool from Aston Villa last season and was expected to hit the ground running. However, the Belgian struggled with Liverpool’s style of play and soon found himself on the bench.

Benteke explained his disappointment with how Klopp treated him since taking over from Rodgers. He also revealed that he is ready to leave the club if things do not change soon.

“I still have a contract at Liverpool and I’d like to stay there, if I remain in the coach’s plans,” he said.

“If that’s not the case, it will become difficult to stay.”

He added: “When Klopp arrived I saw that I wasn’t in his plans. That was frustrating because I knew that during my first season at Aston Villa he wanted me.”

“But we had several discussions together – I respect and I understand his decisions. I’ll think about if after the Euros.”

The likes of Chelsea and West Ham are thought to be interested in the Liverpool striker.
