Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain has been linked with a move away from Italy this summer and the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with the prolific Argentine.

Higuain has been sensational for Napoli ever since he made the switch from Real Madrid. With Manchester United and Liverpool needing a top quality striker, it seems like an easy link.

The English media seems to believe that Higuain wants a change of scenery this summer and is keen on a move to Liverpool. The player wants to play under Jurgen Klopp and will snub a move to Manchester United if Liverpool come calling.

Apparently Higuain has already had offers and his camp are surprised Liverpool have yet to show any interest.

All things considered, it simply does not make any sense that a player like him would give up Champions League football to play for Liverpool, especially when there are better clubs out there who would be willing to sign him.

Furthermore, it also seems extremely unlikely that the player would snub Manchester United, a club with far greater resources and a simply better manager. Higuain has also worked with Mourinho before and the duo have a great working relationship and mutual respect.

Also, Liverpool are unlikely to pay the ridiculous asking price for the Argentine. Napoli value him at around 70 million pounds. Although Liverpool have considerable resources, this is clearly beyond them. If they do shell out that fee for Higuain it would be a club record signing.

Having said all that, nothing is impossible in football and if Klopp decides to get rid of Balotelli, Benteke and Sturridge, a deal for Higuain is definitely possible, atleast financially.
