Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will stay at Merseyside beyond the summer despite attracting interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

“Do not worry, there’s nothing happening with me this summer,” Suarez said in front of Uruguayan television station Canal 10. ” My family and I are very happy and settled here in Merseyside.”

The Uruguayan has enjoyed a stunning season in the Premier League scoring 30 goals and grabbing 12 assists in 31 appearances for the Reds. Suarez’s immaculate performance has helped Liverpool fight for the Premier League title and Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently at the zenith of the standings with two games left in the campaign.

It is believed that Real Madrid President Fiorentine Perez has put Suarez on the top of his wishlist and will BE weighing up a £70 million bid for the 27-year-old’s services in the summer. Suarez’s international team mate Edinson Cavani had earlier claimed that it is the ‘striker’s dream’ to play at the Spanish capital. The controversial striker was earlier subject to a transfer bid by Arsenal in the previous summer, one which was rejected by the Reds.

Suarez also vented his frustration over Liverpool’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea last weekend, a result which dealt a hammer blow to the Anfield side’s title aspirations.

“I still rue that defeat. It was very frustrating but we could not find spaces We knew it would be a tough game but we were nervous and we lost control of the game.

We are hoping Man City loses some points, and in the Premier League you never know, anything is possible. Now we have to win the next two games and it is not going to be easy.”

It is thought that Suarez has a release clause in the region of £70m which Madrid were trying to activate. However, that news came from The Sun, and therefore its credibility can highly be questioned.

Plus, Suarez is not the first choice, if at all any choice target of Real Madrid, with El Confidencial, a newspaper close to the club, claims it’s Sergio Aguero, who is still wanted by the Capital club.
