Napoli are ready to offer a three year contract extension to manager Rafa Benitez whose future at the Naples based club has been under speculations over the past few weeks. We had reported earlier this week that Benitez claimed he misses his family at Liverpool which is very tough for him personally. But today morning Football Italia and TMW have both cited Il Mattino saying that the Partenopei could be ready to tie Benitez with the club by offering him a long-term deal.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is willing to keep the Spanish tactician but the 54 year old will be given time to decide about his own future. It is thus believed that any possible contract which Benitez signs will have certain conditions. The former Liverpool manager could also ask for a greater involvement on how the club is run and a free rule on transfer signings like his tenure at Merseyside.
The 54 year old has also been linked with the Spanish national team job after Vicente Del Bosque gives up his position post Euro 2016. Thus even though he might sign a contract extension with Napoli, there are suggestions that he might have a ‘get-out clause.’ Il Mattino finally finish their story claiming that Benitez WILL decide his future by the end of February. De Laurentiis is also to give the tactician the time to make his decision.
