Liverpool have recalled goalkeeper Danny Ward from his loan spell at Aberdeen.
The talented U21 keeper is expected to join the Liverpool squad at Melwood today and could feature in the matchday squad against Arsenal (as the second choice keeper).
Ward has been very impressive for the Scottish outfit and is expected to provide more competition to Simon Mignolet for the rest of the season.
New signing Adam Bogdan has been a major disappointment and after his howlers against Watford and Exeter, Klopp has clearly lost his faith in the former Bolton reserves keeper.
Impressed with Ward’s form for Aberdeen, Jurgen Klopp has opted to cut short his stay in Scotland in order to strengthen his goalkeeping department.
Earlier this week, there were reports of Simon Mignolet not being fit for the Arsenal clash. However, Echo have now confirmed that such reports are false and the Belgian was simply rested for the Exeter game.
Mignolet has no injury concerns and will return to the starting lineup against Arsenal.
As for Ward, the young keeper is expected to take up Bogdan’s role as the second choice keeper in the Liverpool squad for the remainder of the season. Ward made 29 appearances for Aberdeen this season and has been crucial for the Scottish side.
